Health Improvement Partnership of Shasta (HIP) is a nonprofit organization in Shasta
County dedicated to improving the health of youth and families in our community. We
work in collaboration with other organizations to achieve this goal. Our current
approach is based on local support and a set of experiences and values known as
Developmental Assets™. These assets provide a platform upon which individuals
and organizations can partner in order to guide asset building interactions with
children and youth. We have a training pool of 25 local volunteers. These volunteers
have trained over 1000 people to build assets in our community and youth in Shasta
County. Our clients served include community members at large including parents
and youth as well as service providers offering health prevention and intervention
resources.
Mission: Building strengths in our communities to develop and promote the health and well-being in our children and youth. Vision: To be leaders in ensuring leaders that there is a county-wide response to community
identified health priorities.
